So yes, here we are, on the interwebs where our ilk run free and thrive. We are nerds! We are proud! Hear us loud! Ok, so now that that is out of the way, let me explain why you might be here.... (other than because it's a class requirement) This is just a blog about one of my many obsessions: Movies. Movies and also where they stories for them come from.
I think it's safe to say that a majority of movies are adaptations and and even larger majority of good movies are adaptations. It's important to know where the stories we love come from and that is my goal is to point out some of the better adaptations and just nerd out about movies and good story telling.
So to sort get some of my background I'll fill you in on some of my favorite things:
Movie- This is like picking a favorite child. It's near impossible. I have many favorites of every genre and style but if you had held a gun to my head and said "tell me you favorite movie!!" First I'd ask you to put the gun down, because its not that serious bro, then I would tell you my favorite movie is Amedeus.
In my opinion this is a perfect movie. Perfect pacing, perfect acting, perfect costume design, and most of all perfect use of music. An amazing flick, I highly recommend it. It didn't win best picture for nothing. (P.S. the director's cut is on Netflix)T.V. Show- Again like movies, there is just too many good shows out there. I love Dexter, True Blood, Breaking Bad, SOA, Heroes, Cheers, Family Guy, Sopranos, Futurama, Simpsons, Looney Toons.... I could probably literally go on forever. But, to narrow it down to one, I would have to say HBO's hit series The Wire.

This show is just amazing. The rich enormous cast of unique characters and the amazing actors portraying them makes for an amazing show. The drama and rollarcoaster it takes you on is exhilarating. Also it is one of the most realistic portrayals of what happens in the inner city ever put on tv. No polishing for Hollywood here, this show is pure raw drama.
Books- Surprise, surprise I am an avid reader as well. I am always reading a novel. It may be only a few pages here or there or I might devour a book in one sitting but I always have something going reading-wise. Right now my favorite and the most compelling story I am reading is the Repairman Jack Series by F. Paul Wilson.

I cant even begin to explain the huge series and give it its due justice. I will quote from wikipedia as they do an OK job.But its much much more than that, give it a read.
Adaptation- Since Amadeus is an adaptation of a popular stage play, that would be my favorite movie adaptation as well but I'll just name one I really really enjoyed recently. Scott Pilgrim vs. The World
Super cool comic book adaptation. Edgar Wright does an amazing job of bringing the comic book feel to life on the screen. One of the coolest, differentest (its a word shut up), movies out there.
So there you go, I've gone on way too long but there will be more to come soon, check back later!
"The series revolves around the adventures of a Manhattan-based "urban mercenary" who calls himself Repairman Jack. Jack is a man with no last name or legal status who makes his living "fixing" situations for people who cannot find help elsewhere. His work has not only led him into violent encounters with the criminal underworld, but also into the midst of a behind-the-scenes cosmic battle for Earth between two supernatural forces: one known as the Ally, which is benign towards humanity, and one as the Otherness, which is hostile towards it and generally considered 'evil'."

Man this feels kinda redundant since we already talked about our favorite movies and stuff for a couple hours. But digging the blog so far man really speaks about your personality. Also after seeing the picture you posted up for Amadeus, I gotta check it out now
